Betty Reber, 91, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.
Betty was born in Pine Grove, June 29, 1925, a daughter of the late Ellen Rebecca Stump and George Elias Reed.
Betty was a graduate of Pine Grove High School, Class of 1942, and Central Penn Business School.
She was a legal secretary in Harrisburg until 1955, when she married Hugh W. Reber. He passed away in 2007. They celebrated their 50-year wedding anniversary in 2005.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ Summer Hill, a 50-year member of the Orwigsburg Chapter 424 OES and Schuylkill Choral Society. Betty enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling.
Betty loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Allen Reed, Alma Kintzel, Ivan Reed, Anna Harris and Glenn Reed.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Reber, Rebecca McBreen, wife of Mark, all of Schuylkill Haven, and Janice Becker, wife of Ron, Bethlehem; grandchildren, Jennifer, Rachel and Jessica Becker and Mitchell and Meghan McBreen; nieces, Joann Gerber, Beverly Gates and Susan Reed; nephew, Dale Reed.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ Summer Hill, Auburn, with the Rev. Mark Dewald officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ Living Memorial Fund, 1235 Summer Hill Road, Auburn, PA 17922. Interment will be in Summer Hill Cemetery.
