Donald J. Zulick, Sr.

Donald J. “Tub” “Bubbles” Zulick, Sr., 70, of  Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday, January 20th, in Schuylkill Haven.

Born May 9, 1944, he was the son of the late Theodore and Esther Heim Zulick.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beryl A. Fisher Zulick.

He was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven Schools and retired from Omnova Solutions, Auburn. He was currently working part time for the Borough of Schuylkill Haven as a crossing guard at the corner of Center Avenue and Dock Streets.

He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War on board the USS Salamonie a Cimarron class fleet replenishment oiler.

He was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven. He was an Assistant Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 625 when his sons were in Boy Scouts. He was a former member and Commander of Robert E. Baker Post #38 American Legion, Schuylkill Haven.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sisters Anna and Beatrice; brothers Harry, Wayne, George, Leroy and Robert.

Surviving are a daughter Holly L., Schuylkill Haven; sons Donald J., Jr. and wife Sherry (Reber) and Jason F. and wife Christina (Cappella) Pottsville; Trent T. and wife Michelle (DeMartino) Schuylkill Haven; two granddaughters Kimberly and Chloe, Pottsville. Brothers John and Dale Schuylkill Haven; Ronald, Bremerton, WA; sisters Lois and Donna, Schuylkill Haven and Patricia, Bel Air, MD.

A religious service will be held at 10:30 am at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven with the  Rev. David Rowe officiating. Friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation from 9 am until the time of the service Saturday at the Church. There will be no calling hours Friday evening.

He will be helping lives of many people by being a Gift of Life tissue donor. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances may be made to Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 252 Dock Street, Schuylkill Haven PA 17972.
