Drew A. Schaeffer, 75, of Cressona, passed away Monday at the Orwigsburg Center.
Born in Cressona, Feb. 17, 1940, he was a son of the late Vernon and Elizabeth Kantner Schaeffer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Jo Scott Schaeffer, and a son, James Kiessling.
He attended Cressona High School and proudly served in the Navy.
He was formerly employed by the Reading Railroad, Schuylkill Products, Allied Signal, and retired from C.P. Lighting.
Drew was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona. He also belonged to the Cressona American Legion Post 286, Goodwill Fire Company, and the Beckville Gun Club.
He is survived by three daughters, Lori Kiessling Mieczkowski and husband, Ted, Robesonia, Pamela Kiessling Sterner, Cressona, and Jodi Schaeffer, companion of Donald Long, Cressona; two sons, John Kiessling and wife, Pam, Arizona, and Tim Schaeffer, companion of Michelle Heim Cindrich, Cranberry Township; grandchildren, Malia, Jimmy Joe and Ally Kiessling, Jennifer, Shari and Michael Kiessling, Tara and Kimberly Reinhart, Danella Spotts, Stephanie and Craig Sterner, and Trent and Brianna Schaeffer; 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Lou Emerich, Cressona, Shirley Hill, Delaware, Donna Reed, Florida, and Neicie Yoder, Arizona.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, with the Rev. Nathan Druckenmiller officiating. A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. at the funeral home until the time of the service. Interment will be held at a later date. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to Cressona American Legion, Post 286, 1 Front St., Cressona, PA 17929.
