George Kerschner Obituary

George M. Kerschner, 86, of Auburn, entered into eternal life Friday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, Jan. 8, 1932, he was a son of the late Theodore and Edith Miller Kerschner.

He was the husband of Dorothy Sowers Kerschner.

He was a member of St. John's Church, Auburn. George was active in the Auburn Boy Scout Troop 117 in addition to serving in many ways at his church. George was an avid skier and enjoyed summer camping trips with his family. His happiest moments were spent with his beloved family and friends. 

George was a graduate of Auburn High School and was last employed by Paul Guers Jr. and then became self-employed as a contractor.

George was preceded in death by a sister, Iva Kerschner.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Randy Kerschner, husband of Gail, Mohnton, Debra Perkins, wife of Brian, Schuylkill Haven, and Cheryl Deibert, wife of Jim, Orwigsburg; grandchildren, Randy Jr., David Kerschner, Heather Huber, Devin and Lauren Deibert, Nicole and Thomas Perkins and AnnaMarie Siple; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Riley, Grace, Katie, Eli, Robert and Nicky; sister, Mary Achenbach, Schuylkill Haven.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Auburn, with Pastor Walter Breiner officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the church. The family requests donations to St. John's UCC, P.O. Box 103, Auburn, PA 17922. Interment will be in St. John's New Cemetery, Auburn.
