Jean R. Stank, devoted wife, mother, grandparent and friend was born in Shamokin, PA in 1927. After living a wonderful life filled with peace and joy, Jean passed away on January 26, 2015.
She blessed all that she knew with compassion, love and humor. Jean was a graduate of PAHS class of 1945. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #424, a congregant of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ, Summer Hill, and was a long time member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville, PA. Jean served as an auxiliary member of the Tall Cedars as well as the Travelers Protection Association.
She is survived by her husband Paul of 65 years and three children; Gail, wife of Robert Kolenda of Tucson AZ, Karen, wife of Richard Howenstine of Mechanicsburg, PA, and son Terry, husband to Cathy of Lake Wynonah, PA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ 316 West Market Street, Pottsville, PA 17091, Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1235 Summer Hill Road, Auburn, PA 17922, the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
