Joshua William James Hoppes

Joshua William James Hoppes, 29, of Tower City, passed away Sunday, March 4th, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

Born in Pottsville, on July 12, 1988, he was a son of Tracee (Freeman) Hoppes, partner of Norma Felpel, New Ringgold, and Darwin W. "Check" Hoppes, Jr. husband of Becky, Pine Grove.

He was the husband of Karen A. (Breech) Hoppes.

Josh was a graduate of Pine Grove Area High School, Class of 2007. He then attended Penn Tech and graduated from the HVAC program and was employed as an HVAC technician for Fort Indiantown Gap.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by sons, Gabriel J. and Eli D. Hoppes; brother Matthew Hoppes and his companion Gina, Philadelphia; step-siblings Michael Yakoboski husband of Abby and Danielle Yakoboski and companion Eric Volkert; sister in law Catherine Klock husband of Blake; brother in law Daniel Breech; nieces Kadence and Brylee; maternal grandmother Carolyn Freeman; paternal grandmother Carol Kutash; mother in law Virginia Breech; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Josh is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James A. Freeman; paternal grandfather, Darwin W. Hoppes, Sr., paternal step grandfather, Frank Kutash; and father in law, Joseph Breech.

A Memorial Service will be held at Geschwindt Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 10th, with Rev. Ted Rathman officiating. 

A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  

Interment will be private at convenience of the family. 

The family requests memorial donations to the Joshua Hoppes Memorial Fund, 1549 Long Run Rd., P. O. Box 33, Friedensburg, PA 17933, to establish a trust fund for his sons, Gabriel & Eli.
