Welcome to the memorial page for

June Ella (Lesher) Yoder

September 16, 1917 ~ August 5, 2016 (age 98) 98 Years Old

June Ella Yoder, 98, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday at Orwigsburg Center.

Born in Hamburg, Sept. 16, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Ella Crowe Lesher. She was the widow of Roy A. Yoder, and preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth and Luther.

June lived a long, fulfilling and fun life - we knew her as June, Junebug, Tunny, Aunt June, Nana, Nana June and Mom. In her almost 99 years, she scrubbed floors during the Depression, worked in the women's clothing business, ran a business with her husband, traveled the world, and participated and held leadership positions in many organizations, including The Order of the Eastern Star (50-year member), The American Legion (life member), The Women of the Moose, past president and member of the College of Regents, the most prestigious personal honor that rewards past regents for their outstanding accomplishments and services rendered on behalf of children and seniors. Other organizations that June belonged to were the DeMolay Mothers Club, Tall Cedars Auxiliary, and various social clubs and fire companies over the years. She was also a member of the Schuylkill County Stamp & Coin Club and hosted many events at her home over the years. She also proudly told everyone that she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pottsville since she was 8 years old.

Anyone that knew June knew that she liked to have a good time and always enjoyed a party. Over the years, she hosted many picnics, birthdays and Christmas parties. Well into her 90s, she remained the life of the party - always enjoying a VO or a Manhattan. When there was a party, the question was always asked, "Is Aunt June coming?" She will be missed at future parties, but the stories will live forever. Also, those who knew her remember her frequent trips to the casinos in Atlantic City - a place that she often claimed to be born. Caesars should light a candle in the window for her!

June is survived by her son, Roy (Allen) Yoder, husband of Kathy; granddaughters, Alexa Yoder and Amanda Yoder Zelinsky, wife of Stephen; great-grandchildren, Ella and Grant Zelinsky, all of Orwigsburg.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. There will be no calling hours. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
