Melissa Jane Steigerwalt, 48, of Lake Wynonah, passed away June 26 peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. She valiantly fought a battle with cancer of an unknown primary location.
Melissa was born March 11, 1969, in Pottsville, a daughter of Marion E. Hill Miller and the late Gary "Fat" Miller.
She grew up in Schuylkill Haven and graduated from Schuylkill Haven Area High School, Class of 1987.
On June 5, 1999, she married the love of her life, Kenny Steigerwalt.
Melissa worked various jobs through the years but found her passion in making jewelry. She loved to create one-of-a-kind jewelry for her friends and family to enjoy, so she turned her passion into a business and was the owner and operator of Silverwearables Jewelry by Melissa Steigerwalt.
Melissa enjoyed spending time with her family, especially spoiling her two grandchildren, the outdoors, taking motorcycle rides with her husband and friends, and photography. Her pictures were enjoyed by many viewers and published in various newspapers and magazines.
She had an infectious smile, a kind and giving heart and a beautiful soul. She was greatly loved and will be missed by family and her many friends.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by a daughter, Ashley Corcoran, wife of Kenny, both Air Force; a grandson, Connor; a granddaughter, Caila, Dover, Del.; three brothers, Mark Miller, husband of Cheryl, Schuylkill Haven, Marty Miller, husband of Gwen, Glen Allen, Va., and Mike Miller, husband of Christa, Schuylkill Haven; a sister, Marsha Borden, wife of Larry, Schuylkill Haven; in-laws, Richard and Mary Steigerwalt, McKeansburg; a brother-in-law, Dennis Steigerwalt, husband of Patty, Clearfield, Utah; 14 nieces and nephews; her loving cat, Toby.
At the request of the family, services and interment will be private.
