Pauline M. (Freeman) Trumbo

Pauline M. Trumbo, 79, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Reading.

Born in Wayne Township, May 15, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Cora Bressler Freeman.

She was a 1955 graduate of Cressona High School and a 1959 graduate of Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing.

She was employed by Argo Mills, Schuylkill Haven, for a year before beginning her nursing career. She was a registered nurse at Pottsville Hospital, Hamburg Center, Leader Nursing Home and retired from Wernersville State Hospital in 1998.

Pauline was a member of St. Mark's (Brown's) Church, Schuylkill Haven, where she served as secretary of the church consistory. She was a member of St. Mark's choir and initiated the church newsletter, member of the Ladies Aid Society and later of the Willing Workers. She was a Sunday school teacher, having taught the primary department, and assisted with Bible school. She was a member of the Tremont Senior Citizens. She also participated in St. Paul's Players, a volunteer group that performed at local nursing homes.

She enjoyed working for the church, helping people in need and especially her family. Her pride and joy were her two granddaughters, Julia Anne and Marielle Grace. Pauline was a loving and devoted wife, mother, caregiver and grandmother. 

She helped raise a nephew, Kenneth Freeman, Texas, for five years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Freeman; a godson and nephew, Scott Freeman.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Henry L. Trumbo; children, Sandra Shadler, wife of Timothy, Schuylkill Haven, and Henry L. Trumbo II, husband of Karen, Warrington; grandchildren, Julia and Marielle Trumbo and Timothy Shadler; great-grandson, Clyde Shadler; great-granddaughter, Madalyn Shadler; sister, Alberta Lutz, Pine Grove; brothers, Harvey Freeman, Pine Grove, and Paul Freeman, Greencastle; a godson, David Freeman; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark's (Brown's) Church, Schuylkill Haven, Washington Township, with Pastor Eckroth officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the Church. Interment will be in St. Mark's (Brown's) Cemetery, Washington Township. The family requests donations be made to St. Mark's (Brown's) Memorial Fund, c/o Timothy Shadler, treasurer, 958 Schwartz Valley Road, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
