Pruella Sallie Schaeffer, 95, formerly of Schoolyard Square, Pine Grove, passed away Tuesday at Rest Haven, Schuylkill Haven.
Known as Prill to her family and close friends, Pruella was born Sept. 14, 1920, to the late Ira E. and Martha Hauck Christ. She was married to Carl L. Schaeffer, also from Pine Grove, until his passing in 1986.
Pruella was a graduate of Pine Grove High School, Class of 1938, and was employed as a secretary for various businesses.
She was a former member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven, and Order of the Eastern Star, Lewisburg chapter.
Pruella enjoyed nature and flowers, and she loved to crochet.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Ferraro and husband, Dr. Albert C. Ferraro.
She is survived by a nephew, Albert Ferraro and wife, Denise, Lebanon, N.J.; three nieces, Janice Ferraro, Florham Park, N.J., Carole Eorio and husband, Rick, Chatham, N.J., and Marilyn Goldsmith and husband, Matthew, Summit, N.J.; great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Pine Grove.
