Richard E. Foose, 86, of Cressona, passed away Tuesday at his residence.
Richard was born in Pottsville, May 17, 1931, a son of the late Howard and Mabel Hummel Foose.
He was the husband of Waltraud H. "Wally" Langer Foose, to whom he was married 57 years.
He was a graduate of Cressona High School. He was a member of Cressona Lodge No. 222 F&AM and Schuylkill Haven American Legion Post No. 38. He was the past president of the Schuylkill Haven Lions. He was an avid motorcyclist and Philadelphia Phillies fan.
He served in the Army as a corporal and was formerly employed by Honeywell.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Thomas M. Foose, husband of Catherine, Schuylkill Haven, and James H. Foose, husband of Robin, Friedensburg; a daughter, Donna E. Brehony, wife of Michael, Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren, David, Megan, James, Franklin, Kristen, Nikki, Justin and Jayden; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Olivia and Jameson.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Shawn VanDyke officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until the time of the service Friday at the church. The family requests donations to American Cancer Society , 101 W. Frack St., Frackville, PA 17931-1734. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
