Sterling P. Hepler

September 27, 1933 ~ December 19, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Sterling P. "Skeet" Hepler, 84, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday at Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. 

Born in Cressona, Sept. 27, 1933, he was a son of the late Paul W. and Helen Naus Hepler.

He was the husband of Joanne M. Bentz Hepler.

Sterling was a 1951 Cressona High School graduate and had attended Penn State University.

He was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona. 

Sterling was a member of the F&AM Cressona Lodge 222 and had served as past master and trustee. He was a life member of Cressona Gun Club. He also belongs to the NRA, the Amateur Trapshooter Association, Hegins Trap Club and Beckville Gun Club. He was a charter member of the Goodwill Gun Club and a founding member of Schuylkill Builders Association. 

He was the former owner of Scott Millwork, Cressona, retiring in 1994.

In addition to his wife, Sterling is also survived by a daughter, Loren Reichert, and husband, Bill, Cressona; a son, Duane Hepler and wife, Nancy, Cressona; two grandchildren, Jason Hepler and wife, Crystal, Harrisburg, and Melissa Hepler, Baltimore, Md.; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Caden Hepler; two sisters, Beverly Martin and Cindy Boris, both of Schuylkill Haven.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, with the Rev. Bruce Dalious officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cressona Cemetery. Family request donations to St. Mark's United Church of Christ, P.O.
