Arlene W. (Bobbs) Klinger

Arlene W. (Bobbs) Klinger, 91, of Pottsville, peacefully passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, May 27.

Born in Palo Alto, PA, on April 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. Bobbs, Sr. and Winifred Mabel (Mattern) Bobbs.

She was the widow of Thomas B. Klinger, who passed away in 1979.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Arlene was also preceded in death by her brother, Arthur L. Bobbs, Jr.

She was a graduate of Pottsville High School, Class of 1944.

She had been employed for 11 years as a secretary for the First Presbyterian Church, Pottsville.  She later worked for Esso Standard Oil Co. while residing in Dallas, PA.  Following the death of her husband, she returned to Pottsville and was employed as an administrative assistant by the former Pennsylvania National Bank, Pottsville.

Arlene was a beloved member of the First United Methodist Church, Pottsville, and devoted a great part of her life to its activities and initiatives.  Her loving kindnesses to all, and her selfless giving are immeasurable.  

She is survived by niece, Bonnie Lee Bobbs-DiCello and her husband, Carmen, Pottsville; nephew Arthur Bobbs, III, South Williamsport; grandnieces, Jessica Bobbs-Lorey and Jillian Bobbs-Bokey, Maryland; grandnephew Eric Ostrosky, Bethlehem;great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted by Rev. John Wallace at the First United Methodist Church, Pottsville, at 11 AM on Friday, June1.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Interment at Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville, will immediately follow the service.
