Donald S. McDemus

Donald S. McDemus, 78, of Schuylkill Haven, formerly of Cressona, passed away Thursday, August 16th, at ManorCare, Pottsville. 

Born in Ashland, PA on January 13, 1940, he was a son of the late Stanley & Aldona (Fritz) McDemus.

He was the widower of Ruthann Figel McDemus, who preceded him in death November 1, 2017.

Donald attended Cressona High School and served in the U.S. Marines.

He was formerly employed as a truck driver.

Donald was a member of the CB Radio Club, Marine Corps. Leauge, Minersville, & Cressona Fire Co. #1.

He was a former racer at Big Diamond Raceway, and loved hunting and fishing.

Donald is  survived by three daughters, Maria Dalton & husband, John, Pottsville, Donna Spotts & husband, Joe, New Philadelphia, & LaVerne Schaeffer, Schuylkill Haven, two step-children: Joseph Hill, Jr. & wife, Jodi, Schuylkill Haven, & Mary Faust & husband, Wayne, Schuylkill Haven, 10 grandchidren, 11 great-grandchildren, a sister, Dolores Perzel, and two brothers, Joseph McDemus & wife, Micky, & Stanley McDemus & wife, Patty.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22nd, with Rev. Joseph McDemus officiating. 

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from  9 a.m. until the time of service.  

Interment will immediately follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
