Lucille McCarthy Obituary

Lucille L. (Lou) McCarthy, beloved wife, mother, and nana, was lifted to Heaven on Angels’ wings on Saturday, March 10, 2018.

Lucille, the daughter of the late Richard and Mabel Brown, was born in Tremont Township on September 2, 1930. Her husband John “Jack” McCarthy preceded her in death in October

2015.

Lucille was a lifelong resident of Pine Grove, except for residing at Lake Wynona for about ten years. Lou was a homemaker and later worked as a seamstress for the former Fox Knapp Inc.

She treasured being a mother to her children and a nana to her grandchildren. Lou had a heart of gold and was a wonderful friend. She was cherished by her husband of sixty-five years and

was happiest when spending time with family.

Lucille was a 1947 graduate of Tremont High School. She was raised in a loving family with three brothers and five sisters. In earlier years she enjoyed roller-skating, bowling, sewing

clothing for her children, keeping a beautiful home, cooking, fashion, and in later years watercolor painting. She enjoyed vacationing along the New Jersey and Maryland seashore.

In retirement Lou and Jack spent the winter months in Myrtle Beach, SC. She and her husband enjoyed traveling in the United States and attended Penn State Bowl Games.

In addition to her parents and husband, her brothers Richard, Clyde, and Herbert; her sisters Martha, Ada, Alma, Marian, and Ruby; and her grandson Patrick Curry preceded Lucille in

death. She is survived by daughters Ann, wife of Steve Weaver, Hanover; Kathleen, wife of Robert Hepler, Cressona; son John, husband of Tracey McCarthy, Lewisberry; grandchildren

Michael and Jennifer Curry; Mark and Megan Hepler; nieces and nephews. Lou was a resident of Traditions of Hershey the last two years. She was a lifelong member of The Most Blessed Trinity Church of Tremont, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church on Monday, March 19th at 11 a.m.

Visitation will take place at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Private interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery where Lou will join her husband in eternal life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Lucille’s name to The Most Blessed Trinity Church, 113 Cherry Street, Tremont, PA 17981 or Grane Hospice Care, 1200 Camp Hill Bypass, Suite 205, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
