Paul F. Yerger, Sr.

Paul F. Yerger Sr., 94, of Auburn, passed away Monday.

Born on Feb. 9, 1923, in East Greenville, he was a son of the late James M. Sr. and Margaret Bauer Yerger.

Paul served in the Army, then went on to be a lifetime sawyer, farmer and carpenter, harvesting timber, raising farm animals and building as he moved from county to county throughout his life. At one point, he even built and operated The Big Valley Ski Area, Kempton, in 1969. Paul prided himself on doing whatever it took to make a happy life for his wife and children.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his son, Paul F. Yerger Jr.; grandsons, Paul F. Yerger III and Justin P. Seltzer; brothers, Robert B. and James M. Jr.; sister, Marie A.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Minnie; daughters, Dolores Blew, wife of Stanley, Auburn, Judy Epting, wife of Randy, Auburn, and Cindy Kell, wife of Paul, Millville, N.J.; grandchildren, Michelle Kunkle, Terrie Kubich, Sherry Metzinger, Laura Nyer, Jason Mullins and Jared Mullins; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Anna Force, East Greenville; nieces and nephews.

Service and interment will be privately held.
