Scott Seiwell Obituary

Scott F. Seiwell, 39, of Pottsville, passed away Saturday, March 17th, at Lebanon VA Medical Center after his battle with cancer. 

Born in Reading on August 9, 1978, he was a son of Frederick J. & Linda L. (Hoffman) Seiwell, of Pottsville.

Scott was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School, Class of 1997.

He proudly served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Support Equipment Technician Petty Officer Second Class.   He was stationed at Pensacola, FL, Jacksonville, FL, and  Whidbey Island Naval Air Station, Washington.

Scott was last employed at California Resources Corporation, which is California’s largest oil and natural gas producer, as a plant operator.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. 

In his free time Scott enjoyed weight lifting, mountain biking and off-roading in the mountains of the Los Padres National Forest.

In addition to his parents, Scott is also survived by a brother, Trevor J. Seiwell & companion, Gerri, aunts and uncles, Roger W. Hoffman & wife, Joan, North Fort Myers, FL and Gary L. Hoffman & wife, Pamela, New Braunfels, TX, and his canine companion, Stanley.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 23rd, with Pastor Chris Rothharpt. 

A visitation will be held at the church Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.   

Interment with military honors will follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
