Vera M. Miller, 88, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading. Born in Schuylkill Haven, June 11, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Ora Freed and William Brown. Vera was the widow of Kenneth Miller, to whom she was married for 61 years. She attended Schuylkill Haven schools. She was employed as a machine operator at Argo Mills, Schuylkill Haven. She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, and a choir member for 50 years. She was also a member of Ladies Fellowship Class; Sunday school; Youth Group as an adviser, where she received the Millie Perock Award; Vacation Bible School; church newspaper committee; Bible study; Altar Guild; worship and music committee; Schuylkill Haven Senior Citizens; and SEEDS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Miller; a sister, Gladys Brown; a grandson, Nicholas Einsig. Vera is survived by two daughters, Linda, wife of Jerry Einsig, Orwigsburg, and Lou Ann Miller, Schuylkill Haven; four grandchildren, Jimmy Misstishin, fiance of Suzanne Holley, Jerry "Bear" Misstishin, Ricky Misstishin, and Gina Neyer, wife of Josh; three great-grandchildren, Dominic Behney, Julie Misstishin and Savannah Neyer, a sister, Nancy Baver, Orwigsburg; nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Janet Lewis officiating. Family and friends may call from 9:45 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
