David W. Semanski, 71, of Pottsville, passed away Sunday, December 14th, at home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Detroit, MI on November 24, 1954, he was the son of the late Theresa (Warren) and Alex Semanski.
Married 30 years in September, David was the husband of Noreen T. (Ebert) Semanski.
David retired from a career with the Liquor Control Board.
He was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America.
He truly enjoyed spending his free time outdoors, especially hiking and camping out West. He also loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by four children: William Bradford Hoagland, husband of Paige, of Mount Pleasant, SC; Erin, wife of Fredy Leveron, of Warrington, PA; Kayla Semanski, of Pottsville; and Colin Semanski, husband of Sierra, of Pottsville. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Bennett & Emersyn Hoagland, Aiden & Emma Leveron, and Carson Semanski.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Galloway, who passed away in 1982.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM on Friday, December 19th at Lord Ebling Haus Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Pottsville with Chaplain Douglas Dorula from Residential Hospice officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 PM until the time of services. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
To honor David’s love of national parks, the family asks that memorial donations be made in his memory to the National Park Foundation to their Gift Processing Center at P.O. Box 17394, Baltimore, MD 21298-9450.
