Dolores A. Pitts

Dolores A. Pitts, 92, passed away Saturday, April 25th, at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, where she had been a resident.

Dolores was born in Girardville on August 1, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Harry & Anna (Rovinsky) Pitts.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, and was a former member of Most Blessed Trinity Parish, Tremont. Her favorite Saint was Padre Pio. She was a daily communicant until she was unable to go to church every day.

Dolores held several jobs throughout her life and eventually retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a welfare fraud investigator.

She served as a former president of the Schuylkill County Pro-Life Alliance. 

Dolores, a third generation American, is survived by relatives in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey and many friends in Pennsylvania. 

A well-known quote Dolores often said and truly lived by was "This too shall pass".

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 2nd with Rev. Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik, Rev. Edward Connolly and Rev. Thomas Osei Gyau officiating. A viewing will be held in the church’s chapel from 9:15-10:15 AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Ashland.

At the family's request, memorial donations in Dolores’ name may be forwarded to St. Ambrose RCC 201 Randel St. Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
