Elizabeth A. Zimmerman, 79, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday at the Schuylkill Center.
Born in Pottsville, May 31, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth Lindenmuth Umbenhaur.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, and was formerly employed by Phaon's Diner, Deer Lake, and Hill's department store, Cressona.
She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Schuylkill Haven.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Zimmerman; a sister, Mary Alice "Suzi" Morgan; a brother, James Umbenhaur.
Elizabeth is survived by two daughters, Michele Coles and husband, Richard, Boise, Idaho, and Tammy Barlet and companion, John Groff, Pottstown; four sons, Joseph Zimmerman and wife, Cheryl, Schuylkill Haven, Keith Zimmerman, Pottsville, Duane Zimmerman and wife, Heather, Orwigsburg, and Shawn Zimmerman and companion, Carla Bevan, Schuylkill Haven; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jayne Theal and husband, Harry, Schuylkill Haven, and Marylou Brennan, Pottsville; four brothers, Kenneth "Blub" Umbenhaur and wife, Arlene, Deer Lake, William Umbenhaur and wife, Midge, Saint Clair, Paul Umbenhaur and wife, Anne, Schuylkill Haven, and Edward Umbenhaur and wife, Terri, Auburn; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with certified celebrant Rebecca D. Devlin officiating. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be privately held at the family's convenience. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to Schuylkill Center Resident Council Fund, Attention: Activities Department, 1000 Schuylkill Manor Road, Pottsville, PA 17901.
