Jane C. (Bickel) Nice

Jane C. Nice, 96, of Summit Station, passed away Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.

Born in Philadelphia, May 17, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Ira and Mabel Jacoby Bickel.

She was the widow of Daniel C. Nice Sr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1995.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Summer Hill, Auburn.

Jane was previously employed by the Cherry Hill Library, Cherry Hill, N.J., and The American Red Cross in Whittier, Calif.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by her son, Daniel C. Nice Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Curtis, widow of Jack, Summit Station, a son,Stephen Nice, Calif., grandchildren: J. Thomas Curtis Jr. and wife, Janet, Stephen Curtis, Kristina, Lisa, Ruthann, Sarah, and Chad Nice, and Daniel C. Nice III, and great-grandchildren: Robert and Jacquelyn Curtis, John Curtis III, and Jenna, Jack and Madison Nice.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Summer Hill, Auburn, at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Kathleen Ash-Flashner officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday. Interment will follow the service at Summer Hill Cemetery, Auburn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jane's memory may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 1185 Summer Hill Road, Auburn, PA 17922.
