Janet Ann Griffiths, 82, of Schuylkill Haven passed away Thursday, October 7th, at her residence surrounded by family.

Born in Coaldale on October 28, 1938, a daughter of the late Howard W. & Blanche D. (Welsh) Simpson.

She is survived by her brother, Jason Simpson, York; Son Charles E Griffiths Jr. and significant other Trish Schimpf, Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren Carlie A. (Griffiths) and husband Zachary Polinsky, Slatington and Connor E. Griffiths, Schuylkill Haven.

In addition to her parents, Janet is also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles E. Griffiths.

Janet was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School, Class of 1956. After graduation she continued her career as a secretary for Schuylkill Haven School District for 28 years.

She enjoyed reading, watching hummingbirds on the back porch, playing solitaire, and spending time with family. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church in Schuylkill Haven and belonged to the Cressona American Legion Post 286 Ladies Auxiliary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent to Grace EC Church, 15 Earl Stoyer Rd., Schuylkill Haven or online to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Private services and interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
