Jean Greenawalt

Jean N. Greenawalt, 92, of Friedensburg, passed away Thursday, March 26th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill, E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, on December 11, 1933, a daughter of the late Alveria (Zeigler) and Charles Frantz.

She was the widow of Ralph Greenawalt, who passed away in 2000.

Jean was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Friedensburg, Eastern Star and the Friedensburg Fire Company Ladies Aux.

She was a graduate of Cressona High School and was employed at Blue Mountain Elementary West.

Jean is survived by three sons Lane, husband of Darlene Greenawalt; Kurt, husband of Suzan Greenawalt; Bret, husband of Lisa Greenawalt, all of Schuylkill Haven.

She is also survived by Grandchildren: Kyle Greenawalt, husband of Michaelina, Schuylkill Haven, Jessica Fitzpatrick, wife of Ian, Charleston, SC, Ryan Greenawalt, husband of Katrina, Schuylkill Haven, Eric Greenawalt, husband of Jessica, Cornwall, Ben Greenawalt, Schuylkill Haven, Evan Greenawalt, husband of Jessica, Harleysville, Colin Greenawalt, husband of Ashley, Lansing, MI and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Helen Moyer.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 1st at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Friedensburg, with Rev. Matt Carpenter officiating.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10:00 until the time of the service.

Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
