Jean S. Letcher, 84, of Cressona, passed away Tuesday at Orwigsburg Center-Genesis Healthcare, Orwigsburg.
Born in Pottsville, Nov. 14, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Isabel Lynch Schaeffer.
She was the widow of Melvin S. Letcher.
Jean was a graduate of Pottsville High School, Class of 1949, and Ford Business School.
She was formerly employed by Union Knit & Lemark textile factories as a secretary.
Jean was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was also preceded in death by a son, Charles H. Ege Jr.
Jean is survived by two daughters, Sharon Buckley, widow of Ned, Deer Lake, and Michelle Schuettler and husband, Rick, Orwigsburg; a son, John Ege and wife, Jane, Deer Lake; a sister, Katherine Reese, widow of William, Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life funeral service be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg, with the Rev. Lee A. Diefenderfer officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will follow the service in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
