Joan Ann Tregea

Joan Ann Tregea, 87, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026, at home.

Born in Pottsville, on January 16, 1939, Joan was a daughter of the late Roy Franklin and Alma R. (Behm) Strause.

Married for 55 years, she was the widow of James N. Tregea.

Joan was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School, Class of 1956.

She was a member of Grace Free Church in Orwigsburg.

Joan was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her home and family. She was a great cook, and an extremely skilled baker. Joan's family was the center of her life, and she treasured their time together. She especially enjoyed traveling in their RV and looked forward to family vacations; trips to Chincoteague Island held a special place in her heart.

Joan is survived by children: Brenda Perhonitch, widow of Edward, Schuylkill Haven; James Tregea Jr., Schuylkill Haven; & Morgan Tregea, husband of Linda, Scranton; grandchildren: Kimberly Defrank (Dominic), Jamie Kukuk (Blake), Jordan Tregea, Kristen Perhonitch and Jodi Perhonitch; great-grandchildren: Lillian Nelson, Trinity Gamrak, Talan Gamrak, Blake Kukuk and Elise; and nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her grandsons, Michael Tregea and Adam Gamrak, Jr., & siblings: Ron (Sandra) Strause, Harold "Bud" Strause and Marie (Strause) Hallock.

Services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
