John R. Sterner, 77, of Port Clinton, passed away Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.
John was born in Port Clinton, Oct. 14, 1939, a son of the late Arthur and Grace Overdorff Sterner.
He was the husband of Barbara A. Sterner.
He was a member of St. John's Church, Port Clinton.
John retired from American Argo Knitting Mills as a mechanic and also from Clover Farms Dairy, Reading.
John was a life member of Port Clinton Fire Company and Port Clinton Fish and Game and a member of Pondarosa Hunting Club, Port Clinton.
John is survived by three daughters, Cheryl, wife of Patrick James, Schuylkill Haven, Suzanne, wife of Harold Correll, Hamburg, and Kathy, wife of Andrew Barrow, Orwigsburg; a son, Craig, husband of Alanna Sterner, Tamaqua; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. John is also survived by two brothers, Richard "Mike" Sterner, Molino, and Robert "Hick" Sterner, York.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Amy Kilpatrick officiating. A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park, North Manheim Township
