John Thomas Schenck

John Thomas Schenck, 65, passed away at home on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

John was born in Bethpage, NY on June 18, 1960, a son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Homeyer) Schenck.

He attended Blue Mountain High School.

John proudly served in the United States Navy, worked as a Pennsylvania State Police Officer and was a Game Commissioner at Fort Indiantown Gap.

He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors.

John is survived by sisters Janet Whitney, Orwigsburg and Laura Cortright, wife of Paul, Milford, Delaware; nephews Justin Whitney, husband of Megan and Collin Whitney; nieces Kellie and Charli Cortright and Katelyn Taylor; great-nieces Kallie and Delaney Whitney; and great-nephew Harrison Whitney.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister Linda Anne (Schenck) Taylor, Chicago, Illinois.

At the family's request, memorial donations made in John’s name may be forwarded to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.

Services will be held privately at the family’s convenience.
