Joseph R. Foster Sr., 63, of Pottsville, passed away Thursday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.
Born in Palo Alto, Feb. 27, 1951, he was a son of the late Raymond D. and Anna Strollo Foster.
He was the husband of Raedelle M. Mullins Foster.
Joe was a graduate of Pottsville High School and served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church and Robert E. Baker, American Legion Post 38, both in Schuylkill Haven, and Rescue Hook & Ladder No. 3 Company, Saint Clair.
Joe was employed by Pitt-Ohio as a truck driver, retiring in 1996.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Gloria J. Soellner and husband, George, Pottsville; two sons, Joseph R. Foster Jr. and Brian J. Foster, both of Pottsville; three grandchildren, Kelsie E. Soellner, Nickolas Peterson and Tori Foster; two brothers, Raymond Foster, Saint Clair, and Anthony Foster, Massachusetts; nieces and nephews; his faithful companion, Daisy Mae.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at noon Thursday at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, with the Rev. Susan Wollyung officiating. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow the service in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
