Jovita Quinonez Montanez, 91, formerly of Mahanoy City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 21, at Rosewood Nursing Home in Schuylkill Haven, where she had been a resident.
Born on February 15, 1935, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Jovita was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring heart, and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to know and love her.
Jovita was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her parents and all of her beloved brothers and sisters.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and cherished memories.
Jovita is lovingly survived by her devoted son and longtime caregiver, Julio Agosto, and his wife, Elizabeth; her cherished grandchildren, Jelani Agosto and Irisbetz Agosto; her beloved great-grandchildren, Sophya, Yonciel, and Josue; as well as additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever hold her memory close in their hearts.
Although she will be deeply missed, Jovita’s love, kindness, and the impact she had on the lives of her family will continue to live on for generations to come.
Funeral services and interment will be held in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico.
