Judith L. (Judy) Tamashasky of New Philadelphia, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 with her loving husband Joe at her side. They were married on November 22, 1975, and had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November.
Born in Reading, PA on April 5, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel Yaklowich.
She was a 1965 graduate of Oley Valley High School, attended Business School and had received a certificate in Materials Management from Penn State University.
Judy was employed by various AT&T affiliates, namely Western Electric, AT&T Microelectronics and Lucent Technologies for 34 years. She held various administrative positions in Purchasing, Human Resources, Payroll and Materials Management.
Judy was an avid fan of Penn State football, having traveled to games for 40 plus years. Judy also enjoyed travel and had been on several cruises visiting many foreign countries including various European cities and most recently enjoyed a voyage to Alaska. Every January Judy looked forward to spending some of the winter in Florida.
Surviving are her three sisters, JoAnn wife of Glenn Hillegass, Janice wife of Dana Heck, and Jolene wife of Dale Moser, nephew Dr. Jedd Hillegass husband of Dr. Wendy Myers, niece Lindsay wife of Jedidiah Dunlap, great nephews Nolan and Paden Hillegass, and sister-in-law Ann Dellevigne.
She was predeceased by her parents and her nephew Troy Hillegass.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 4th at Haus Bartashus Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. in New Philadelphia. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Philadelphia.
The family requests donations be made to: Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306 or other veteran organization of your choice.
