Marguerite "Peggy" Coreia

Marguerite “Peggy” Coreia, 76, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026, at home with family by her side.

Born in Aristes on May 2, 1950, Peggy was a daughter of the late Theodore "Mike" and Margaret (Chapman) Buriak.

Married for 56 years, she was the wife of John "Jack" Coreia.

Peggy was a graduate of North Schuylkill High School and McCann School of Business with a degree in Business Administration.

Throughout much of her life, she worked alongside her husband as a self-employed business owner and most recently worked for Bashore Truck Service.

Peggy loved opening her home to family and friends, especially when there was a reason to celebrate. She enjoyed hosting parties, family gatherings, and egg hunts, and somehow had the remarkable ability to eat her weight in food and never seem to gain a pound. To many, she was affectionately known as Aunt Peg or Momma C.

She loved her grandpups and would often make visits to see them, never arriving empty-handed. Her trips included McDonald’s cheeseburgers and ice cream. She loved cardinals and feeding the wildlife around her home, and she found joy in gardening and tending to her flowers. These simple pleasures, along with the time she spent with the people and animals she loved, brought her great happiness.

In addition to her husband Jack, Peggy is also survived by daughter Amy Dillman, wife of Vernon and son Mike Coreia, husband of Jessica; granddaughter Allyssa Thomas; grandpups Chase and Finn; brothers Theodore Buriak and John Buriak, husband of Sue; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately at the family’s convenience.
