Morrisine D. Emerich, 82, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday at Golden LivingCenter-York Terrace, Pottsville, where she had been a resident.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, May 27, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Amelia Behney Rhen.
She was the widow of Harry J. "Hap" Emerich, who passed away Aug. 18, 2007.
Morrisine was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1952, and was formerly employed by Heritage Ford and The Call newspaper.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven, and was involved with the Girl Scouts throughout her life.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Lester, Norman, Bruce, Harold, Russel and Henry; seven sisters, Esther, Ada, Beulah, May, June, Millicent and Raydell.
Morrisine is survived by five daughters, Michele J. "Micki" Casey, wife of Dave, Heidi Kleckner, wife of Rick, Molly Snyder, widow of Bob, Hope Dohner, wife of John "Dunk," and Megan Mills, wife of Bill, all of Schuylkill Haven; 10 grandchildren, Kelly and Kaitlyn Kleckner, Bobbie Jo Wright, wife of Jason, Ashley, Daniel, Jason and Justin Snyder, Robert and Phillip Dohner, and William Mills; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Green and Jack Sherry; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Janet Lewis officiating. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. John's UCC, Dock and Main streets, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
