Rita A. Clevinger

Rita A. Clevinger, 84, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Mount Carmel, Jan. 16, 1932, Rita was a daughter of the late Anna Roszko and Anthony Sharayko.

She graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1949, and had worked as a dietary department aide at Rest Haven.

She is preceded in death by a son, Lewis “Skip” Clevinger, in 1973.

Rita is survived by four daughters, Gail, wife of Lee Raring, Auburn, Mary, wife of Stan Toczek, Orwigsburg, Lisa Rosenberger and her companion, Jeff Dudley, Schuylkill Haven, and Joyce, wife of Joel Spotts, South Carolina; a son, David Clevinger, Clarksville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; a sister, Carol Mahaffey, Lansdale; two brothers, Anthony Sharayko, husband of Esther, Harleysville, and Paul Sharayko, Trappe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Monsignor Edward S. Zemanik. Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142 Memphis, TN 38148. Interment will immediately follow at Saint Ambrose Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.
