Ronald P. Tranosky, 73, of Pottsville, PA passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
Born in Pottsville, PA on November 27, 1951, he was the son of the late Paul Tranosky and Evelyn (Weaver) Doyne and Thomas Doyne.
Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Donna (Witmier) Tranosky; daughter, Dr. Casey (Tranosky) Horvath, wife of Stephen Horvath, Pottsville, PA; two grandchildren Nicholas and Jillian Horvath; brother in law Gary Witmier, wife Darlene, Pottsville, sister in law Sharon Tranosky of the late Michael Tranosky, Orwigsburg, PA sister in law Beverly (Witmier) Williams wife of Eugene, York, PA; nieces and nephews, Shawn Williams, York; Jason Witmier, Orwigsburg; Danielle (Williams) Kelley, Landenberg; Jared Witmier, Orwigsburg; Tina and Michael Tranosky, Orwigsburg.
He was a graduate of St Clair Area High School and the Thaddeus Stevens Trade School.
Ron was retired from the Army National Guard and the State Correctional Institution, Frackville where he worked as an electrical trades instructor.
He was a long time member of the Auburn Boat Club, Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Buck Fever Rod and Gun Club.
He regularly attended, most recently online, church services at St. Paul's UCC of Summer Hill.
Ron was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. His sense of humor was unmatched. He enjoyed spending time with his family and on his boat. He could fix anything and was often found doing odd jobs or projects, using what others often considered trash to make something useful.
He would be proud to know that he was able to be an organ donor despite thinking it was no longer possible due to his health issues. He was always willing to help someone in need.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, July 28 at Lord Ebling Has Funeral Home & Crematory, Pottsville with Rev. Ken McDowell officiating. A visitation period for family and friends will be held from 1:30 PM until the beginning of the service. Interment will be held privately at the family's convenience.
