Scott William Sterner

Scott William Sterner, 53, of Orlando, FL passed away with his daughter, Taylor by his side on Tuesday, September 1st, at Cornerstone Hospice House, Orlando, FL.

Scott was born in Pottsville, PA on January 22, 1973, a son of William A. & Christina L. (Wojcik) Sterner, of Orwigsburg.

Scott was a Schuylkill Haven High School graduate, Class of 1991. He earned his bachelor's degree from Penn State University in 1996.

Scott was of the Catholic faith and was a former member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.

He moved to Florida in 1996 and started working as a lifeguard for Disney; yet professionally, Scott will be remembered as a man whose life and career were deeply connected to the game of golf. His passion for the sport led him through many aspects of the industry, including golf-course operations, equipment, technology, tournaments, sponsorships, radio, apparel and marketing.

His career included work with White Metal Golf in public relations, sales and marketing, as well as positions at Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, Orange Tree Golf Club and the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando. He also worked with Leisure Time, which provided golfers course information directly from their carts through golf-cart yardage technology. Scott was also involved in their tournament services, caddie programs and securing corporate sponsorship.

Scott became a familiar personality in the Central Florida golf community through LoudMouth Golf Radio, which he created and hosted on 740 The Game. His work with the show eventually expanded into golf apparel, branding and corporate partnerships. He later founded Pantemonium, creating apparel and promotional programs for companies, tournaments and golf-industry events, including the PGA Show. He continued embracing new ideas through ventures such as QRcode.golf.

Scott’s golf legacy was built across virtually every side of the game. For him, golf was more than a career, it was a community, a passion and a way to build lasting relationships. He didn’t simply work in golf—golf was woven through his life.

Scott is survived by his beloved daughter, Taylor C. Sterner, Orlando, his sister, Stephanie Homan, wife of Jason, Auburn, nephew, Austin Homan, niece, Chloey Homan, his paternal grandmother, Joan Sterner, Schuylkill Haven, aunts, uncles, cousins, and two furry grandsons: Bumper & Pants.

Scott is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Arthur Sterner, and his maternal grandparents: John & Myrtle Wojcik.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, September 12th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven from 9:30-11:30 AM. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 11:30 AM with Certified Celebrant, Becky Devlin officiating.
