Shelby J. Leymeister, 84, of Auburn, passed away Tuesday, July 16th, at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.
Born in Pottsville on August 27, 1939, she was a daughter of the late John F. & Izola Mae (Reigel) Trumbo.
She was the widow of Donald W. Leymeister, Sr., who passed away in 2000.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shelby is also preceded in death by her son, Donald W. Leymeister, Jr., brother, John A. Trumbo, and sister, Carol J. Readinger.
She attended Schuylkill Haven schools.
A talented seamstress, Shelby had worked as a sewing machine operator for several local textile factories for most of her life. She also enjoyed embroidery, and making alterations to clothing for family and friends.
She was the former mayor of the borough of Auburn, and had driven the Powder Puff race car.
Shelby is survived by her daughter, Jody Lyn Fox, wife of James, Auburn, three grandchildren: Damian Foley, husband of Lizzie, Kelly Seidel wife of Leslie, & Travis Leymeister, husband of Vicki, six great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, & Jaxon Seidel, Hunter Foley, Gavin, Skyler, & Ryder Leymeister, siblings: Richard Trumbo, husband of Shelley, Landingville, and Kim Hoffman Shive, wife of John, Cressona, and nieces & nephews.
Services and interment will be privately held at the family's convenience.
