Stephen D. Schaeffer

Stephen D. Schaeffer, 67, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, February 16th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.

Stephen was born in Pottsville, PA on June 22, 1955, a son of the late Helen (Barnes) and Irvin Schaeffer.

He was the husband of Jo Ann (Pogash) Schaeffer.

He retired as a machine operator at Rubber Maid United Metal, Pottsville.

Stephen excelled in sports at Pine Grove High School lettering in Football, BasketBall and Baseball. He enjoyed fishing and served for a number of years in the Army National Guard.

He is survived by a daughter, Christine Schaeffer, of Bethlehem; 2 granddaughters Heidi O'Boyle and Destiny Silfies, nieces and nephews also survived by two sisters, Holly, widow of David Morgan, of Pine Grove;  Lori, wife of  Eric Hartzel, of Newmanstown;  a brother, Todd, husband of Lucinda Schaeffer, of Tremont.

Preceded in death by a baby sister, two brothers Edward and Joel and a sister Crystal Krammes.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 21st at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc in Schuylkill Haven, PA with Rev. Kevin Fruchtl officiating with a visitation for family and friends from 9:30 till time of service.

Interment at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
