Thomas Davis

Thomas J. Davis, 92, of New Philadelphia, passed away Friday, February 27th, at Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg.

Born in Kaska, on January 5, 1934, a son of the late Sara (Spotts) Jones and Thomas Davis. Sr.

He was the widower of Myrtle (Mehlman) Davis.

He graduated from Blythe Township High School and played the drums in the school band. He then played the drums in the Joe Misti Orchestra. He served in the Army Reserves and National Guard for five years each. He formerly worked as a heavy equipment operator for various contractors, retiring last from the Panther Creek Power Plant.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son Thomas Davis, III; grandchildren Jodie Ortiz and Joseph Davis; and an infant grandson Christopher Davis.

Thomas is survived by his daughters Denise Becker wife of Edward, Hellertown and Susan Paltanavage (with whom he resided) wife of Vincent, New Philadelphia; grandchildren Edward Becker, Jr. wife of Natalie, Bly Salm and companion Sarah, Malorie Tyson wife of Brian and Thomas Davis IV; great grandchildren Angel, Julissa and Emily Ortiz, Jaxon Salm, Harlow Becker and Ryder Tyson; great great grandson Ezra Rodriguez; sister Christine Ybarra wife of Ed, Goodyear, AZ; son in law Angel Ortiz.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 4th at Haus Bartashus Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. in New Philadelphia.

A viewing for family and friends will be held prior from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
