Thomas F. Elison

Thomas F. Elison, 80, of Tamaqua, passed away Saturday, September 26th, at home.

Born in Pottsville on August 22, 1946, he was a son of the late Paul & Jennie (Parry) Elison.

Married 59 years, he was the loving husband of Lucinda M. “Cindy” (Smith) Elison.

Tom was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Pottsville.

He was a 1965 graduate of Nativity BVM High School.

Tom had worked as the Parts Manager for Bertolet Volkswagen. Later he turned his love of antiques into a career. He was a partner in the former “Curious Goods” in Pottsville and managed Black Diamond Antiques in the former Schuylkill Mall. Tom also operated a stand at Renninger’s Market, Schuylkill Haven, for more than 30 years.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Tom was a life member of West End Hose Company, Pottsville.

In addition to his wife, Tom is also survived by his nephew, Jason Modesto, husband of Karen, Seltzer, great-nephew, Nico, & great-niece, Natalia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, October 2nd at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Pottsville. A Viewing will be held at the church from 10 AM until the time of Mass.

Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Pottsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church, 913 Mahantongo St., Pottsville PA 17901.
