Glen Schwenk Obituary


Glen H. Schwenk, 60 of Auburn, passed away Saturday, July 30th at Geisinger St. Luke's, Orwigsburg with his loving family by his side. 
Born October 24, 1961 he was the son of Ruth Schwenk and the late Leroy Schwenk. 
He graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1979 and was a member of St. John's Church, Auburn; where he volunteered at the monthly food pantry. 
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna and Judy. 
He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Elaine, a son, Keith and his partner, Alex, two grandchildren: Caroline and Wil, all of Lancaster. As well as brothers Dale and his wife, Kaye, of Schuylkill Haven, and Terry and his wife, Alretta, of Auburn, and nieces and nephews. 
Glen was a perfect example of why organ donors are so important. He received a double organ transplant in 1999. He was always aware of the gift he was given and lived every day of those 23 years to the fullest. 
An avid gardener, he planted a large vegetable garden so he would have extra to give to family and friends.Always there to lend a hand, he did what he could to help others.He loved spending time with his family and friends especially his grandkids, nephew Wes, and niece Kelsey. 
He was loved by many and will be missed by all those who knew him. 
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Church, 2nd and Pearson Sts., Auburn, on Friday, August 5th at 11 AM. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. 
Interment will be private. 
At the family's request, donations in Glen's memory may be sent to St. John's Church, PO Box 103, Auburn PA 17922.
