Hazel L. Houtz Krammes, 92, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, April 13, at Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg.
Born Dec. 1, 1930, in Pottsville, she was one of 10 children, born to the late Henry and Elsie (Starr) Houtz. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Hazel was the widow of Carl Krammes, who preceded her in death in July of 1998.
The couple moved to Schuylkill Haven in 1954 to start one of the largest families in the area. Together they had Darlene, Carl Jr., Dennis, Beverly, Richard, Nancy, Robert, Pam, Patricia and Dean. She had 34 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Hazel had worked for local textile factories, including Cressona Knit Products, as a machine operator for over 40 years.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, with Pastor Mark Hochgertel officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
