Molly Frehafer

Mary "Molly" Frehafer, 73, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Tuesday, September 27th, at the Orwigsburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Pottsville on April 25, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Marguerite “Sis” (Trout) and Ernest “Jake” Hamerly.

After graduating from Nativity BVM High School in 1967, Molly worked in the shipping office at Phillips Van Heusen, retiring after 42 years to spend time with her family and friends.

Molly was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church. She was an avid Penn State fan, season ticket holder, and a member of the Nittany Lion Club, attending nearly every home football game since 1970. She loved taking trips to Disney with her family and spending time with her beloved granddaughter. She also enjoyed a good breakfast and shopping trips with many close friends.

Molly is survived by her daughter, Kristyn Frehafer, of Orlando FL; son Kyle Frehafer, of Schuylkill Haven; granddaughter, Khalle Frehafer; sister Diane Rattigan, wife of David, of Schuylkill Haven; nieces Dana Rattigan, of Schuylkill Haven and Drew Burrows, wife of Alex, and a great nephew, Wyatt Burrows all of Maryland.

In addition to her parents, Molly is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. held Wednesday, October 5th, at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with Rev. James Fidler officiating. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 pm and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday. Interment will follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Memorial donations in Molly's memory may be sent to the Schuylkill Haven Island Fund, 333 Center Ave., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
