Obituary

Richard L. "Mose" Brown, 82, of  Friedensburg, passed away Wednesday, April 19th, surrounded by his family at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg. 

 

Born in Friedensburg on December 7, 1940, he was a son of the late Lewis & Ada (Reed) Brown.

 

Richard was a graduate of Cressona High School.

 

He was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, Friedensburg. 

Richard was a life member of NRA, Friedensburg Fire Company, & Friedensburg Fish and Game. He also belonged to Arnot's Sportsman's Club, Morris Rod and Gun Club, Dixie Run Camp, Tioga Co., Roedersville Fish and Game, PA Federation of Sportsman Club, and Wild Turkey Federation. 

 

Richard was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Brown, and a brother, Larry Brown.

 

He was a Carpenter for Local #214 Carpenters Union.

 

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary L. (Hikes) Brown, two daughters: Marie, wife of Ned Laubenstine, & Jennifer, wife of  William Hudson, four grandchildren: Tara and Amy Laubenstine and Jeffrey and Caleb Hudson, sister in law Nadine Brown, and nieces and nephews.

 

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday at St. John's  Reformed Church in Friedensburg, with Rev. Matt Kenitzer & Rev. Jonathan Hikes co-officiating.  A viewing will be held from 10 AM until the time of service.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

 

The family prefers remembrances in the form of contributions to St. John's Reformed Church, 17 Chestnut Street, Box #58 Friedensburg, PA 17933.
