Daniel Edward Mulroy

Daniel Edward Mulroy, 76, of Orwigsburg, passed away Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

Born in Pottsville, May 9, 1940, he was a son of the late William and Mary Devine Mulroy.

He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, and the past president of the CACL Federal Credit Union. Dan was a member of the homeowners association of Buck Creek, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and also a charter member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

He served in the Army and was employed as a postmaster and mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service at various locations. He last worked as postmaster in Orwigsburg. 

Dan was a graduate of Nativity BVM High School, Class of 1958. He was a Notre Dame enthusiast. He was an avid golfer and played in leagues at Hidden Valley Golf Course. In the winter months, Dan resided in Myrtle Beach, which allowed him to golf year round.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Annie.

Dan is survived by a daughter, Joanne Wehr, wife of Doug, Pottsville; grandson, Jared Wehr; siblings, Patricia Christ, wife of Ronald, Harrisburg, William Mulroy, husband of Marie, Reedville, Va., Jack Mulroy, Lewisburg, and Mary Eileen Taronis, wife of Charles, Pottsville; nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemeteries/Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
