Joseph Anthony DeLeon

Joseph Anthony DeLeon, 19, of North Manheim Township, passed away Thursday in Landingville. 

Born in Reading, Jan. 12, 1995, he was a son of Manuel R. Jr. and Susan M. Kishonis DeLeon.

Joey received the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout award in 2012 and graduated from Blue Mountain High School, Class of 2013.

He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and going on road trips throughout the country with his many friends. He also had a passion for riding his quad.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph A. and Mildred A. Romanauskus Kishonis.

In addition to his parents, Joey is also survived by a brother, Stephen DeLeon, at home; aunts and uncles, Joesph Kishonis Jr. and wife, Kimberly, Rock, Peter E. DeLeon and wife, Kimberly, St. Marys, Ga., Janice DeLeon and companion, John Heinbach, Orwigsburg, and Michael DeLeon, Florida. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Rosella Castillo, St. Marys, Ga.; paternal grandfather, Manuel R. DeLeon Sr. and wife, Sandi, Bethlehem; and cousins.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, with certified celebrant Caitlyn E. Ebling officiating. A viewing will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
