Alan was one of our congregation's favorite supply pastors over the years. He will be greatly missed by members of Collenbrook United Church, Drexel Hill, as well as by the Philadelphia Association, UCC, where he served long and faithfully.

We were blessed to meet Pastor Rieder at Bethany UCC in Philadelphia. We formed an instant friendship over Kutztown Pa where he was born and my mother Elaine grew up. His love and enthusiasm for the Lord was contagious! I hope he was greeted by his dogs running to him! Our prayers are with his family.

Alan was a life long blessing to the people and congregations of the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference of the United Church of Christ. He brought hope, light and the assurance of God's presence to comfort countless Christian brothers and sisters. It was my honor to labor with Alan personally for only a few years -- which was long enough to know the deep blessing of his kind spirit and loving heart. Thank you Alan for your many years in service to the church, for fighting the good fight and building up the Body of Christ. Prayers for your spirit and for Jesus' assurance that God has welcomed you home with the simple words, "Well done thou good and faithful servant." Rev. Bill Worley, Conference Minister, PSEC, UCC
