Riley H. Gilbert, 89, of Luther Ridge, Pottsville, passed away Tuesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.
Born in Cressona, June 6, 1925, he was a son of the late James H. and Martha Herb Gilbert.
He was the husband of Rhoda A. Gordon Gilbert, to whom he was married 68 years.
Riley was a graduate of Cressona High School and was employed as a carpenter, a member of the local 465 United Brotherhood of Carpenters. He retired in 1987.
Riley was a life member of Cressona American Legion, Lionville Fire Company and Beckville Gun Club.
In addition to his parents, Riley was also preceded in death by four brothers.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Ricky Gilbert and wife, Cindy, Longneck, Del., and Clayton, New York Thousand Islands; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Gilbert, Cressona.
Service and interment will be privately held at the family's convenience.
