Carol L. (Hensel) Lassandro Campbell

Carol L. Campbell, 89, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Wednesday at her residence.

Born in Tower City, Nov. 27, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Arthur P. and Kathryn Sterner Hensel.

Carol was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven.

She served in the Army in the medical department.

She was formerly employed by the Big Dipper and also Jayne's Flower Shop, both of Schuylkill Haven.

Carol was a member of the South Schuylkill Garden Club, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Schuylkill Health Auxiliary and was a Girl Scout Troop leader for 13 years. She was also active as a volunteer in both hospitals in Pottsville, where she made flower arrangements.

She was the widow of Joseph M. Lassandro, who passed away in 1959, and her second husband, William S. Campbell, in 1983. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lane Shirey; and an infant son, John Lassandro.

Carol is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Lassandro Karey, wife of Bruce, Auburn; two sons, Joseph M. Lassandro, husband of Carla, Schuylkill Haven and William S. Campbell Jr., husband of Christine, Mohnton; grandchildren, Melissa Shappell, Jason, Gina, and Joseph III Lassandro, William III, Brett and Sophia Campbell; and eight great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to American Legion Post 38, P.O. Box 314, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972 or American Cancer Society, 101 Frack St., Frackville, PA 17931-1734.
