Virginia H. Reed, 89, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Cressona, passed away Tuesday at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
Born in Cressona, Sept. 22, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Sarah Deatrich Herring.
She was the widow of Kay Sherman Reed, who passed away in 2007.
Virginia was a member of St. Mark United Church of Christ, Cressona, and the Cressona Order of Eastern Star. Until her passing, she was the oldest worthy matron of the Cressona Chapter. Virginia also enjoyed bowling, golf and the Hickory Runaround's camping and square dance club.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Matthews and Charlotte Luxton.
Virginia is survived by a daughter, Ginger Miller, wife of Jim, Williamsburg, Va.; granddaughters, Kimberly Farr, wife of Gary, Bel Air, Md., and Kara Matzko, wife of Michael, Virginia Beach; great-grandchildren, Katrina Thielman and Reed Matzko.
A graveside service will be held at 11:45 a.m. Friday at Cressona Cemetery with the Rev. Nathan Druckenmiller officiating. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022-2199
